Code Red
Branding, Guidelines, Website & Marketing
Code Red provides PR and communications for the cyber security sector and has a strong position in this market having successfully operated in it for 21 years where it has a long legacy, a good profile in the market, and a deep knowledge and single focus on cyber. It runs a well-established global network of over 16 agencies that covers 84 countries and operates a unique payment by results model that has significant client appeal. Code Red makes clients visible and credible to decision makers by drawing on its specialist expertise, depth of contacts, and cut-through content.
In 2022 the company leadership felt it was time to refresh the brand identity to reflect their new strategy and positioning which was developed by The Brand Arrow. I was brought in as the lead designer, working alongside Bruce McKinnon, founder of The Brand Arrow, to develop a new corporate identity for the company which would start the story of the 'Intent on Progress' brand proposition - and capture its key aspects (razor sharp focus, movement, direction) to amplify the brand status in a highly competitive market.
Once the new identity was agreed, I designed and completed the Code Red Brand Guide, a visual expression of the new Code Red brand to ensure that all team members, suppliers, and partners are equipped with a crystal clear understanding of how the brand should be presented across all its channels – from the website and social media through to business cards and case study templates.
Applying the new brand guide principles, I created the company corporate stationery, templates for presentations, press releases and case studies as well as marketing collateral for trade shows. I also acted as design director, collaborating with the team at Studio Illicit, on the design of the new Code Red website.
